Shia Kapos’ gets Rich Melmans’ take on Kiki’s 40th Anniversary and the “Rue de Kiki” honors.
July 14th is Bastille Day and, Georges āKikiā Cuisance, owner and founder of Kikiās Bistro, 900 N. Franklin St., in Chicago has sponsored a variety of celebrations over the 20 years his restaurant has been at this location.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Kiki’s Bistro’s River North location, there will be an official street naming ceremony as the corner of Franklin and Locust gets the honorary name, āRue de Kiki.” There will be dancing in the streets, a la Paris, with music by Claudia Hommel and Francophiles and others looking for excellent cuisine and company, can celebrate on the 14th of July (Franceās Independence Day) āBal du 14 JuilletāĀ at a Bastille Day Fest from 6 ā 10 p.m. at Kiki’s (PLEASE NOTE: Reservations are required for indoor restaurant and outdoor terrace dining at KIKIāS BISTRO.)
This event is being hosted by LāUnion des Francais de lāEtranger de Chicago (UFEC), Les Francais du Monde-ADFE and Francophone Professional Group (G.P.F) and Alliance Francaise of DuPage County.
