Say “No” to ComEd/Ameren Rate Hikes

Right now, ComEd and Ameren’s high-powered lobbying teams are leaning on state senators to vote for SB 1652, a bill that would lead to annual rate hikes for ComEd and Ameren. The bill passed both houses of the legislature on the last day of session, but without enough votes to ward off a threatened veto by Gov. Quinn.

The final version of the bill claims to promote consumer-friendly upgrades to the power grid, but includes controversial provisions that could slap ComEd and Ameren customers with big rate hikes every year for the next decade!

ComEd and Ameren are trying to wrangle more votes out of the Senate and convince legislators who stood up for consumers—by voting NO—to back down.

Please, tell your state senator to vote NO on the current version of SB 1652 if it comes up for reconsideration.  Your voice makes a difference, so please send a message now, before it’s too late! And tell your friends to do the same.
